सदर पेपर (Course)मध्ये प्राचिन काळापासून सद्यकाळापर्यंत इतिहास कशा प्रकारे लिहिला गेला आहे त्याचा अभ्यास केला जाईल. युरोप आणि आशिया खंडात निर्माण झालेल्या इतिहास लेखन परंपरांचा आढावा घेण्याच्यादृष्टीने या पेपरची रचना केली आहे. प्राचिन, मध्ययुगीन आणि आधुनिक काळातील इतिहासलेखन परंपराची वैशिष्ट्यांची जाण विद्यार्थांना या पेपरच्या माध्यमातून होईल. त्यांना खोलवर रुजलेल्या आणि परिष्कृत इतिहासाच्या जाणिवांचा अभ्यास करता येईल जो या विविध इतिहास लेखन परंपरामध्ये दडलेला आहे.
This course explores the ways in which history was written since ancient times. It is designed to take a panoramic survey of the historical traditions prevailing in Europe and Asia. The course will acquaint students to the salient features of the tradition of history writing during the ancient, medieval and modern periods. They will learn about the deep and sophisticated consciousness of history embedded in the various traditions of history writing in India
