This course is for M.Sc. Statistics students and is of four credits. Statistical Computing and Numerical methods paper of M.Sc. Applied Statistics and Informatics has 80% syllabus common. So students of M.Sc. Applied Statistics and Informatics can take this course.
It will cover
1) Two statistical packages namely MS-EXCEL and R .
2) Concept of simulation and some basic methods for generation of random numbers from a given model
3) Bias reduction methods (Jack-Knife, boot-strap) and Numerical Methods for root finding, integration.
